Project description
An increasing amount of tasks are being performed across multiple community borders. That means these tasks can only be effectively managed at the inter-communal level. Therefore the number of microregions has increased significantly in the last few years. Based on the core competencies of these organizational structures, three trends for future development of micoregions in Lower Austrian were identified:
  • Microregions improve services for the citizens: enhancement of cross-community cooperation in the fields of public and private sector tasks of the municipalities
  • Microregions provide successful project development: project and investment pools for the implementation of regional projects
  • Microregions for developing living space: cross-community cooperation in the field of spatial development
