Project description
The aim of the project was to build up an organisational structure (EUREGIO) for cross-border cooperation between the Austrian Region Weinviertel, Southern Moravia in the Czech Republic and the Zahorie Region in Slovakia. EUREGIOs reduce barriers to cross-border communication and cooperation for communities, countries, regions and project partners. An espeically important feature therein is the "bottom-up" development approach, which enables the maximum number of potential partners in the region to come together. This enables projects for the area to be professionally re-worked, coordinated and supported. Deliverables of a EUREGIO are: providing information for projects, regional development, promoting opportunities for regional advancement, coordination between project partners, coordination of projects with relevant authorities, representing regional interests (through organisation of excursions and public events), mediating advisors, providing translation and interpreter services.
